Stephany and I had planned this outdoor, nature filled, clothes-pin-line themed south in south Orange County. Then rain came into the forecast - RAIN! This rare phenomenon only happens a hand-full of times in ‘winter’ in Southern California and of course the weekend we picked it was supposed to rain.
This is why backup plans are so crucial and being flexible is key! We switched locations to the wonderfully flexible Spark Studios, an indoor photography studio in Huntington Beach specifically created for portrait shoots like these. The vision of our shoot did change slightly but the images it captured were equally as stunning.
The vision for our shoot centered around this amazing gunmetal grey/purple silk gown from Free People with a gorgeous cowl-neck detail. It looked absolutely stunning on Stephany and we had so much fun incorporating the luxuriousness of it throughout our session. It matched perfectly the the simple, intentional walls of Spark Studio!
Modern, simplistic, feminine, delicate were all vision words for this shoot and it came together better than I could have imagined - even with the rain!
