When Lauren reached out to me to shoot a portrait session with her in her apartment, I was thrilled! Not only is she a dear friend, she is also the coolest, friendliest, and go-with-the-flow person I have ever met!
When I asked Lauren what she wanted her session to feel like, she responded with the warmth and coziness of her current apartment. She knew that eventually she would move on from this quaint Southern California beach spot, and she wanted a way to remember this phase of her life. This season of life represented a time where she felt confident and at peace with the way the universe had directed her.
Lauren’s session is proof that you don’t need a big life event, a significant other, or a new baby to justify having professional photographs taken.
All of life’s moments, both big an small, are worthy of celebrating through photography.

We intentionally kept it simple for this session. She wore what she always does, a black/white outfit with jeans, and followed her normal routine, which included a stop by the farmers market that morning to pick up some fresh flowers. We played oldies from the 1960’s and we moved through her space as the light directed us.
Showing Lauren her gallery after our session is such a great memory. We went to a local coffee shop and reminisced on the session. Seeing pure joy light up a client’s face as they view their photographs for the first time is a moment I will never tire of!
