If I could add a theme song to this session it would 100% be Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves. Newport Back Bay provided the perfect setting for this feminine, and simple, Portrait Session at - you guessed it - golden hour!
Newport Back Bay is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots to shoot at in Orange County. Even in the winter there is so much fun to have and beauty to be found - would you believe me that this was shot in January!? Come spring time, the grasses that line the trails will be tall and full of the most beautiful yellow wild flowers. The flowers will eventually die in the summer heat but the green grass will last through the summer, making it an ideal shooting location year-round.
Another reason to love Newport Back Bay is there is plenty of room to spread out! Especially in Covid times we both appreciated having lots of space to get the photos we wanted while social distancing from other hikers on the trails.
It was so fun working with Keeley for this shoot! We both had a clear vision of what we wanted to accomplish and had so much fun - she is the sweetest and kindest person. She even indulged me by laughing at my dad-jokes and helping me (socially distanced) give out some our leftover flowers to a little girl on the trail!
Flowers and dad-jokes aside, this session was so incredibly fun. Seeing that positive energy translate onto film is something that I’ll never get over!
