July 13, 2021 was a really special day. One of those days that that I had looked forward to for months and knew would be a monumental day in my career as a Fine Art Film Photographer.
I attended a Female Portrait Workshop with THE Elizabeth Messina!
I was lucky enough to have met Elizabeth briefly at another workshop back in the fall of 2019 and I have been an admirer of her work for a really long time. This more intimate setting allowed for more personal conversation and the opportunity to watch her in action behind her cameras.
This was more of a listen-and-observe type of workshop, which I love, and we were given just a few minutes individually with the most amazing model to take some photos for ourselves with her guidance. Let me tell you, having Elizabeth Messina watch you take photos was so intimidating!! And while I was only able to shoot through two rolls of film the entire day, what I learned in this session more than makes up for it!
What started as a 4-hour workshop quickly turned into 7 hours (then a two-hour drive home!) but a day i’ll remember forever. Female Portraiture is a passion of mine and I am so excited to take these learnings and give them back to my amazing clients!
