The human body is simply amazing isn’t it?
I had the honor of photographing a Maternity Boudoir Session for my dear friend to celebrate the incredible journey her body has been on these past 9 months - growing life inside of her!
I photographed a sweet Maternity session with her husband (you can check that out here!) and we wanted to complement that session with one that was more artistically based, focusing on the human form and the beautiful lines of her body.
There is such a misconception with Boudoir Photography - that it has to be overly sexualized. That can’t be further from the truth! While giving Boudoir photos to your partner is a wonderful gift, feeling empowered to have artistic photos taken for your own enjoyment is much more common! Speaking from experience, I had my own Boudoir Shoot done to celebrate a self-love journey and I look back on those photos now so proud of how far I have come!
Maternity Boudoir takes it to a whole new level - those nine months go by quick and before you know it that beautiful pregnancy bump will be gone. We had a vision to play with fabric, light, and form to preserve her pregnancy glow forever. Not to mention how much fun we had listening to music, playing with all the props, and talking about how much we can’t wait for her little baby to get here!
