Wildflower Portraits with Priscilla
Newport Back Bay, California
-
Spring is such a wonderful time of year. The sun stays out later, the birds begin chirping, the temperatures begin to get warmer, and the landscapes come to life with beautiful, vibrant colors. In Southern California it really only rains from January to early March with just enough rain to give life to wildflowers in the spring time.
The greens get greener and all of the rolling hills around Los ANgeles and Orange COunty are covered in a blanket of yellow and orange flowers.
When Priscilla reached out to collaborate on a shoot, I knew I wanted to capture the wildflowers before they vanished for the year. We kept saying during the shoot that it felt as if we were living through the Folklore Taylor Swift album!
I had recently done a shoot in Newport Back Bay in the wintertime (you can see it here) and was excited to get back here to shoot in a different season. Back Bay is an incredibly versatile spot which makes for the perfect background for portrait sessions. I should make it a goal to finish out the last two seasons!
You can never ever go wrong with flowers for a photoshoot, and I’ll add this session to my every growing list of examples! Enjoy!
